An Arkansas City woman was fatally injured near Fort Scott Friday afternoon when the vehicle she was driving crossed the centerline on U.S. 54 highway and struck another vehicle head-on, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
Teresa Martin, 43, died as the result of the accident. Two passengers from Winfield, Rebecca Barnard, 18, and Donavan Barnard, 2, were not injured.
The driver of the second vehicle, Regina Young, 45, Moran, was hospitalized in Joplin, Mo.
Martin was from Tacoma, Wash. She had relatives in Arkansas City.
