Barb Mayo is the new risk reduction and re-entry coordinator for the Winfield Correctional Facility, according to a statement from the correctional facility. She has worked at the Winfield facility for 14 years.
Mayo has been actively involved in the Kansas Department of Corrections risk reduction initiatives. She has been instrumental in the development and implementation of the risk reduction diversion program locally.
As coordinator, she will utilize her skills and provide oversight to all risk reduction and re-entry programming services for state inmates in Winfield.
Mayo began her career as an office assistant in the mail room in Dec. 1993. She was promoted to the position of correctional counselor in August 1995. In April 2000, she was promoted to correctional counselor II.
