UPDATE: Wichitans hurt in Udall wreck Wed.

A pair of Wichitans was injured Wednesday when the Ford Escort they were riding in collided with a semi truck on K-15 in Udall.

Raymond Walker, 23, and Jackie Walker-Amos, 43, were transported to Via Christi-St. Francis in serious condition. Randall L. Walker, the driver of the vehicle, spoke with NewsCow at the scene and said those injured were his brother and mother.

Their injuries were not believed to be life threatening. Randall Walker was not injured.

The accident occurred around 10:30 a.m. when the Walkers 1988 Escort was eastbound on 21st Road and failed to yield as it entered the intersection at K-15. An eastbound semi truck traveling on K-15 struck the Escort on the passenger’s side.

The driver of the truck, Larry Landwehr, 55, Murdock, was not injured.

Randall Walker told NewsCow that he had purchased a pack of cigarettes and was horsing around with his brother who had asked for the pack.

“I looked up and realized there was a truck I hadn’t seen,” he said.
