There is?a risk of severe thunderstorms and even tornadoes in Texas, Oklahoma and southern Kansas today, tonight and Thursday.
Meteorologists are stressing that a massive outbreak of even more violent weather may well occur on Thursday in much of the same area under threat today. Thursday’s tornadoes may be larger and remain on the ground longer.
Thunderstorm watches were in effect in areas of Texas and Oklahoma at noon today. Cowley County is under a flood watch this evening through Thursday evening with a 70 percent chance of rain today and again on Thursday.
The storms expected in this area late tonight may also pack large hail and strong winds.
