A Sumner County District Court appearance for a Salina truck driver facing two counts of vehicular homicide has been continued to May 22, according to a court spokeswoman.
Lanny Carter, 45, surrendered to authorities April 19. He posted bond pending his first court appearance scheduled originally for April 24.
Carter is accused of running a stop sign last July and smashing into a van. Kathrine “Kat” Tredway, 10, and Thomas Alexander, 11, died in the accident on Kansas 53 and U.S. 81.
The Tredway child was the granddaughter of an Oxford police officer and the daughter of a Wellington police officer. The two children were cousins.
