Flooded fields and ditches are common sights in Cowley County and south central Kansas this week. Rainfall totals for most of the county total 2.5 inches or more.
Scattered thunderstorms are in the forecast for Wednesday. The Winfield area received about .13 inches of rain Tuesday, according to Arlan Anglemyer, an observer for the National Weather Service.
Flood warnings remain in effect for this area through Thursday.
