At least two hurt in wreck south of Winfield

At least two people were injured Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle accident near the intersection of U.S. 77 and 33rd south of Winfield. None of the injuries was considered life threatening and all involved were transported to the hospital stable condition.

Emergency crews were called to the scene of the accident just after 1 p.m. A black, four-door passenger car and a maroon sport utility vehicle collided.

Personnel worked for a time to a free a person from each vehicle and then loaded them into an ambulance. Traffic on 77 slowed at times but motorists were allowed to pass the scene at the direction of an officer.

A infant child, believed to be a passenger in one of the vehicles, appeared unhurt and was in the care of an adult at the scene.
