A flood warning has been issued for the Arkansas River at Ark City until Monday morning or until the warning is canceled.
At 10:15 a.m. Sunday, the river was at 17.1 feet. Flood Stage is 17 feet. Minor flooding is occurring.
The river will continue rising to near 18.1 feet by Sunday afternoon. The river will fall below flood stage Sunday night although more severe weather in this area is predicted. Large hail and strong winds are possible.
