Police are looking for a Ponca City, Okla. man who was involved in a traffic accident, fled the scene and abandoned the vehicle he was driving which turned out to be borrowed from another man, Arkansas City Police Chief Sean Wallace said.
The accident occurred Friday evening in the 700 block of W. Radio Lane. Jennifer Clements, 16, Ark City, rear-ended a vehicle that was stopped in traffic without brake lights, according to Wallace.
An Ark City resident later called police to report a vehicle in his backyard. The investigation revealed the vehicle was linked to the accident. Since then, police have contacted the registered owner who said he loaned the vehicle to a Ponca City man to move to Ark City.
The vehicle Clements was driving sustained extensive front end damage and had to be towed from the scene.
She and a passenger, Mercedes Stewart, both complained of chest pain and was evaluated at South Central Kansas Regional Medical Center and then released.
