Arraignment for an Arkansas City man accused of raping and battering two elderly woman has been continued for the third time.
Bruce A. Hays, 41, was to be arraigned Monday. The hearing was continued until Thursday, when it was continued again until 10:30 a.m. Oct. 9.
The women live together. Hays, a local mechanic, lived with them for a time and then moved down the street from them.
He was arrested July 29 on six counts of rape which allegedly occurred between Sept. 1, 2007 and July 28, 2008. He remains in the county jail.
