A Wichita man charged with raping a Winfield woman Sept. 12 will be back in Cowley County District Court Oct. 7.
Omar Salvador Castillo-Fernandez, 29, is being held in the Cowley County jail. Bond was set at $9,800.
Fernandez was arrested Sept. 14 by the Winfield Police Department following the report by the 25-year-old rape victim. She said the alleged rape occurred at a private residence in Winfield.
It took several days for police to identify the suspect. He faces the rape charge and a second charge of driving without a license, according to District Court records.
