Two Winfield teens charged with obstructing justice in connection with a fire that destroyed the Island Park playground Oct 27 are to be arraigned Jan. 7.
Christie Chaisson, 15, and Bret Martinez, 17 were scheduled to be arraigned last week but the hearings were continued in Cowley County District Court.
The third defendant in the fire, Zachary Buhlke, 17, is also scheduled to appear Jan. 7. He is charged with arson.
An arraignment is a proceeding in a felony case in which a defendant is brought before the court to answer to a criminal charge after a finding of probable cause.
