City replies to Horinek open records requests

City officials in Arkansas City have replied to an open records request seeking additional information about the dismissal of police officer Kevin Horinek.

Information about why Horinek was terminated will not be made public because it protected by statute as a personnel issue, administrators said in a formal letter to NewsCow and KSOK.

In response to a second open records request, they did confirm that Horinek worked for the city from Nov. 12, 2007 until April 15 of this year.

He was paid at a rate of $15.27 per hour and had the rank of officer.
