Damage to a vehicle is May Crime of the Month

Damage to a 2005 Pontiac Vibe ? that was left parked on the side of the road after it experienced engine trouble ? is the Crime Stoppers Crime of the Month for May.

Around 5 p.m., May 18 a 71-year-old woman pulled the car of the roadway and parked it in the 1000 block of 22nd Rd. She returned less than four hours later to find someone had ripped of the windshield wipers of the car and used them to scratch the pain.

Damage was estimated at $3,649.

The Cowley County Sheriff’s Office is asking for assistance from anyone who have information about this crime. A reward of up to $1,000 is available for anyone providing information that leads to an arrest of the person responsible.
