Two people were taken to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after an SUV struck a USD 465 school bus from behind, according to reports from the scene. The bus had no children on it at the time of the crash.
The accident occurred at 9th and Gary as the bus was attempting to turn from Ninth onto Gary. The SUV struck the rear of the bus as it was turning, according to a KSOK reporter at the scene.
The driver of the SUV, a female thought to be in her 60s, was transported to the a local hospital for treatment. She may have had a medical condition that contributed to the accident.
The driver of the bus was able to take herself to the hospital for treatment, schools spokesperson KayLynn Smith said.
