Two jailed after search turns up weed, meth

Winfield police arrested two people Thursday evening after turning up what is believed to be pot and meth during the search of a local home, according to a written report.

Around 7:20 p.m., police executed a search warrant at 339 N. Houston. The report did not indicate what prompted investigators to obtained a warrant to search the property.

Officers found meth, marijuana and several items of paraphernalia associated with the use and sale of illegal drugs.

Austin C. Miller, 27, Winfield was arrested and faces charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute with 1,000 feet of a school facility, felony possession of marijuana, felony obstruction of the legal process, possession of drug-sale paraphernalia and and no drug tax stamp.

Jessica Moler-Shaw, 22, Winfield, was arrested and faces charges of possession of meth, possession of pot, possession of drug-sale paraphernalia and possession of drug use paraphernalia.

Both Miller and Shaw remained in the Cowley County Jail Friday night, according to a jail spokesperson. Bonds have been set for each but they cannot be released due to probation violations in regard to past incidents.
