UPDATE: Drivers ID’d in Country Club crash

Authorities believe alcohol was a factor in a rollover accident Friday at 14th and Country Club Rd. just outside of Winfield. At least one person was injured.

Ranse Williamson, Winfield, was identified as the driver of the car that overturned. He was in serious condition at the scene. He faces charges of driving under the influence, minor in consumption, driving with a suspended license and failing to yield the right of way.

Williamson’s current condition is not known, though his injuries were not believed to be life threatening.

The accident occurred around 8 p.m when Williamson was traveling west on 14th and collided with a northbound vehicle on Country Club. Williamson’s vehicle rolled over and ended up on its top.

Alan R. Sutton, Rose Hill, and a passenger in the second vehicle suffered very minor injuries.

The Winfield Police Department and Cowley County Sheriff’s Office were at the scene.
