A Winfield man was arrested at Wal-Mart in Ark City Friday after an investigation into shoplifting also turned up drugs, police said in a written report.
Chad Parker, 26, faces charges that include possession of meth, possession of pot, possession of drug paraphernalia and felon theft. His bond is set at $9,000.
Wal-Mart officials called police around 10 a.m to make a report in regard to shoplifting. Parker first complied with a loss-prevention employed but later tried to run and was detained. The suspect eventually admitted to having drug in his pockets, police said.
A bag of meth, a pot pipe and three needles were recovered during a search.
Parker is also currently on probation for an unrelated conviction.
