AC search turns up illegal immigrants and IDs

Three illegal immigrants ? all from Guatemala ? were arrested late Thursday and turned over to immigration officials as part of an investigation into the making of phony IDs.

The arrests came after Ark City police served a search warrant at a home at 718 South B St in Ark City. A warrant was issued based on information developed in regard to the making of fraudulent identification cards.

Police ? with assistance from Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Cowley County Sheriff’s Office ? searched the home and found five social security cars, three state identification cards and two immigration cards. All are thought to be fraudulent, police chief Sean Wallace said.

Authorities also led to the discovery of nine Guatemalan residents ? all living in the U.S. Illegally.

Three were arrested by immigration investigators for detention and removal. They are: Vildemar Hernandez-Marin, Maria Leonarda Marin-Estrada and Isidro Hernandez-Juarez.

Luis Adolfo Lopez-Gonzalez was released pending an immigration court date. No other suspects were named.
