A woman was arrested early Monday after Ark City police say she attempted to pass fake hundred dollar bills at local businesses.
Maria Paglianti was arrested around 3 a.m after an investigation into counterfeiting. Authorities believe Paglianti tried to, or did, pass phony bills at Reedy Ford, Wal Mart, McDonald’s, Jumpstart, Loves Country Store and Apco East.
Three $100 dollar bills, believed to be counterfeit, were confiscated as part of an investigation into the incident, according to a written report from police.
Paglianti faces five counts of attempting to make a false writing and two counts of making a false writing.
She was booked into the Cowley County Jail and is being held on a $14,000 bond.
