Family Video is expected to move into Winfield after Movie Gallery closes its location on Main, sources told NewsCow Monday.
Last month, Movie Gallery, 1217 Main, abruptly launched a going-out-of-business sale after issues with its lease arose. The store is expected to close by the end of May.
A manager for Family Video ? which has other locations in this area, including in Derby, Wichita and Wellington ? confirmed the company was considering the Winfield market. Family Video took over a Wellington location that was, until recently, a Movie Gallery.
The Family Video spokesperson said no information would be released until plans are finalized.
Family Video is the largest privately-held video chain nationwide and the third largest overall.
