Pre-schoolers enjoy a farm day at fairgrounds

About 140 pre-school students from Winfield spent Friday at the Winfield Fairgrounds getting an up-close view of livestock and farm equipment.

Cowley County Farm Bureau arranged the day in partnership with the K-State 4-H Extension and Winfield FFA. Sheep, pigs, a horse, goats and heifers were available for the children to see, learn about and touch.

Students also enjoyed a hayrack ride around the fairgrounds while singing Old Macdonald and had their pictures taken behind the wheels of Massey Ferguson and John Deere tractors.
