Country Mart grocery store in Ark City was evacuated Wednesday due to a gas leak that required the store be closed for a few hours, officials said.
The incident began around 1 p.m when Country Mart’s staff discovered a potential gas leak and called for emergency assistance. Customers were asked to leave the store while the matter was addressed.
It was not immediately clear where in the store the leak was located or what type of gas had caused the problem.
The store is expected to reopen around 4 p.m.
