Henry Hawkins, a rural Winfield man, filed Thursday as a Republican for the District 1 Cowley County Commission seat being vacated by Dick Bonfy. It was the final day candidates could file.
Hawkins will join Wayne Wilt, Ed McGowan and Darrin Green on the Republican ballot in the Aug. 3 primary. Since no Democrat filed, the primary winner would run opposed in the general election.
