Days remain for turning in Cowley First survey

Cowley First has sent 4,000 surveys to randomly selected county residents in hopes of getting opinions on various issues affecting local lives.

The deadline for mailing surveys back is Sept. 29. Anyone wanting to take the survey online, can do so by clicking here.

Employment, retail business, housing, illegal drug use, personal safety, tourism and economic development are among the topics covered by the survey. Mail-in surveys should be sent to Cowley First, 22193 Tupper St., Ste. 1, Winfield, KS 67156.

Those who received surveys in the mail can also drop them at boxes at local city offices, grocery stores, banks or libraries.

Information from a similar survey in 2005 was used to obtain a grant for numerous local organizations and groups. Results of the survey will be shared at town hall meetings and in the local media.

"This is similar to a process we used five years ago ? with excellent results, I might add," Kerri Falletti, Cowley First director, said in a written statement. "A cross section of residents has an opportunity to assess economic conditions, quality of life issues, and problem areas. I express my thanks to everyone who takes time to give this survey thoughtful consideration."
