UPDATE: Texas teens involved in crash Sat.

Editor’s note: Our original story made it appear that only two people were in the F-150 that collided with a semi. There was a 33-year-old driver, who was unhurt. Our apologies for the mistake. – Shane

Two teenagers from Texas have been identified as those receiving minor injuries when a pickup truck and semi collided on U.S. 160, 10 miles east of Winfield early Saturday.

Dominique Griffin, 16, and Jacob Griffin, 13, both of Argyle, Texas, were transported to a local hospital after the 2001 Ford F-150 they were riding in struck a semi at Bolack Corner. Injuries to both children were considered minor and not life-threatening.

Anthony J. Hall, 33, also of Argyle, was the driver of the F-150 and was unhurt. The semi driver, Gregory J. Wolfe, 53, of Columbia, Mo., was also unhurt.

The F-150 was eastbound and attempting to turn north when it crossed the westbound land and collided with the semi. It appears Hall simply didn’t see the semi, according to authorities.

Everyone involved in the accident was wearing a seat belt and officers at the scene credited safety restraints in preventing more serious injuries.

The semi driver also told authorities he was traveling with an empty trailer, which allowed him to slow down more quickly than had the trailer been carrying a full load.
