Edge dancers win a national title in Branson

The Edge Performing Art Centre’s competitive company dancers were grand champions and made a clean sweep of honors in the senior division of a national dance competition in Branson, Mo.

Dancers from Winfield-based The Edge traveled to the StageOne national competition earlier this month where they competed with 27 other studios.

Maddi Drake took first overall in the senior solo competition, dancing to Possibilities. Drake and Maddie Hogue were first in the senior duo-trio division dancing to the The Moment.

The Edge also took first in the senior small group division and earned an intensity award dancing to All Dressed Up. The company was also second overall with Can Can, which won a choreography award and got third overall for Bounce and fifth for Thunder.

The Edge’s junior division also performed well, receiving a platinum first place for Route 66 and placing fourt overall in the division.
