Two hospitalized after crashes in Cowley Fri.

A woman was hospitalized late Friday after a one-vehicle accident just south of Rock, according to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Amanda M. Jeakins, 26, Derby, was taken to Wesley Medical Center following the crash. She was treated and later released, according to a hospital spokesperson.

Jeakins was driving a 2001 Chevy Monte Carlo southbound on U.S. 77 highway when she left the west edge of the roadway, corrected back onto the highway but then over corrected to the west ditch.

Two young girls in the car, ages 6 and 3, were uninjured.

The highway patrol also issued a report on an unrelated accident that occurred earlier Friday near Ark City.

Paula Jo Robinson, 31, Winfield, was taken to the hospital in Ark City following that accident, which happened around 2 p.m.

Robinson was behind the wheel of a 1985 El Camino that collided with the back of another car at an intersection five miles east of Ark City on U.S. 166 highway.

Robinson was the only person injured in the accident. Her condition is not known.
