Pizza Hut driver robbed in Winfield Thursday

A Pizza Hut delivery driver said he was attacked and robbed Thursday as he attempted to deliver food to a home in Winfield, according to a report from local police.

Around 8 p.m., officers responded to the 900 block of E. Seventh in regard to a robbery report. A delivery driver told police he was delivering in the area when he was assaulted by several individuals.

The driver said a request had been made for food to be delivered to the backdoor of a residence in the area. He said he was met by several male subjects when he approached the door.

The men are said to have roughed up the driver before they made off with an undisclosed amount of money and the man’s cell phone.

The victim suffered minor injuries.

Winfield police and the Cowley County Sheriff’s Department conducted a search for any suspects but no one was located.
