Chad Giles – a deputy attorney in the Cowley County Attorney’s office – has filed to run for a seat on the Ark City Commission. Jean Snell has filed for reelection.
Both men filed Thursday, according to the county clerk’s office.
Snell is finishing up a two-year term on the commission after placing third in voting in 2009. Every two years, terms for three seats on the Ark City commission expire and the top two vote getters earn a four-year term on the commission.
Mell Kuhn and Dotty Smith are also up for reelection this year.
Municipal elections are set for April 5. The filing deadline is Jan. 25.
Two seats are open on the city commission in Winfield. Tom McNeish and Phil Jarvis are up for reelection.
