Snow, frigid temperatures expected this week

Snow and frigid wind-chill temperatures are expected to move into the Cowley County area by late Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service and local emergency management officials.

Accumulation of one to two inches – with three inches in isolated areas – is expected by Thursday morning.

Temperatures in the teens and north winds of up to 25 miles per hour are expected to cause below zero wind-chill temperatures early Thursday morning.

Lighter snow is expected again Sunday, though little to no accumulation is expected at this time.
