Chloe Peach was the winner of Thursday’s city-wide spelling bee in Arkansas City Thursday. She and three others qualified to compete in the county bee next week.
Emily Lawson finished in second place, followed by Mackenzie Murphree and Nathan Rosola. Bailey Benton is the alternate should someone not be able to make the county bee.
A total of 16 students participated in the bee, which was held at the Ark City Middle School.
The county bee is set for next Thursday in Winfield.
