Udall police chief, senior officer are resigning

Udall’s chief of police and another of its most experienced officers have announced their resignations from the police force, city officials confirm.

Chief Jeremy Billman and officer Steven Parker will leave the force this week. Billman is taking a job in the private sector and Parker – who works another job – is cutting back on his workload, according to Mayor Chris Lette.

The city plans to open the hiring process and replace the two men, Lette said.

Billman became a full-time officer in Udall in 2007 after having served as a reserve. He was named chief in April 2009, according to the city’s web site.

Parker has been with the Udall police force since 2008.

Billman and Parker are the department’s most experienced officer and have done a bulk of the work running the department, officials said.
