Jury trial set for Chautauqua rape suspects

New trial dates have been set for two Chautauqua County men charged with kidnapping and raping a 14-year-old girl.

A jury trial has been set for March 7 for Stephen Greger. Aaron Terning is scheduled to take his case to a jury May 19, according to Ashley Anstaett, spokeswoman for the Kansas Attorney General.

Little information has been available on when or where the alleged rape and kidnap occurred because of a gag order issued early in the judicial proceedings. The AG’s office is handling the case.

Greger is charged with one count of aggravated kidnapping, two counts of rape and two counts of aggravated criminal sodomy. All three charges are classified as severity level one person felonies. Terning is charged with one count aggravated kidnapping and one count rape.
