Alcoholic beverages were purchased by underage people working with local police at three local businesses during alcohol compliance checks July 3.
The employees who sold the alcohol at Bob’s Retail Liquor LLC, Phillips 66 and Wal-Mart were issued citations for furnishing alcohol to minors. Teri S. Coble, 45, Winfield; Joshua Gorrell, 31, Winfield, and Angie Weber, 26, Winfield, were cited.
The compliance checks were conducted as part of a project the Winfield Police Department is conducting to address underage consumption of alcohol during the summer. The project is funded by a grant from the Alcohol Beverage Control division of the Kansas Department of Revenue.
