Bravo for Creekstone: Company’s logo on TV

Pay close enough attention and you can catch the logo of one of Cowley County’s largest employers ? Creekstone Farms Premium Beef ? showing up in episodes of the cable television reality show Top Chef.

In recent weeks, the Creekstone emblem has shown up a number of times on the two latest episodes of the show, which airs on Bravo (Cox Cable 61.)

Christine Tanner, marketing coordinator at the Creekstone plant in Ark City, said that, as far as she knows, the company hasn’t paid for placement in any of the episodes. Creekstone, however, does supply beef to a number of restaurants in Las Vegas.

That’s where this season of Top Chef was filmed.

Boxes of Creekstone beef show up in shots from the contestant Stew Room ? a room where chefs wait before hearing their fate from the show’s judges.
Tanner said seeing the Creekstone boxes show up in shots is "pretty cool." A former Creekstone employee, who works in Chicago now, called Tanner to tell her the company was on television.

And, speaking like a true marketing pro, Tanner added that she wasn’t surprised to see the company’s product show up on a cooking show. After all, she said, top chefs need access to quality ingredients like the premium Angus beef for which Creekstone is becoming known.

New episodes of the show air Wednesdays at 9 p.m.
