Bethany Gerber’s efforts at the Miss USA pageant in Las Vegas were good enough to earn the Winfield woman a top-15 finish among 51 contestants.
Gerber, a graduate of Winfield High School and the reigning Miss Kansas USA, made the final 15 during a live broadcast of the show Sunday night. She was eliminated when the field was cut to 10.
She got plenty of face time on television during the evening broadcast on NBC.
Miss Michigan, Rima Fakih, became the first Arab-American to take the title of Miss USA.
The event was held at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino.
