Cops ask for tips as vandalism probe goes on

Winfield Police are continuing an investigation into a string of criminal damage incidents that led to reports from 55 people who had vehicle windows broken late Tuesday or early Wednesday.

Investigator Chad Gordon said that in each case, a BB-pellet gun was the suspected cause of damage. There were also two reports of damage to structures.

Police are asking for tips that could help solve the case. If you have information, you can contact the police department at 221-5555 or remain anonymous and call CrimeStoppers at 221-7777.

Information provided through CrimeStoppers that leads to a conviction can earn the tipster a $1,000 reward.

Gordon said police also are asking that everyone maintain increased awareness of what is going on in their neighborhoods and report any suspicious activity.
